Childcare services back in Dampier

Dampier’s new Montessori Early Years Learning and Care Centre will open next Monday, March 7, with full day and before and after school care available.

The Centre has filled the gap left by the previous operators who closed their centre with limited notice in February.

The new service will transfer to the Dampier Community Hub when it opens mid-year, providing even more childcare spaces for Dampier residents.

City of Karratha Mayor Peter Long said it has been an extraordinary effort by the new centre, assisted by Council staff to have the facility accredited and running so quickly.

“There has been a concerted effort by all involved to get the Montessori Early Years Learning and Care Centre up and running just three weeks after the previous centre closed,” Cr Long said.

“We know how important childcare services are to Dampier families and I know they will get behind this new centre,” he said.

“Our new Community Hub in Dampier is in the final stages of construction and this will provide an even better level of childcare facility for Dampier.”

Spaces are still available for full day and before and after school care services although are limited due to the size of the current facility.
