Young people in the City of Karratha are encouraged to share their ideas on events and activities that will shape youth programming throughout the community over the next year.
A survey seeking feedback on issues facing today’s youth and what young people would like to see provided in the future is now live with those aged 11-18 years encouraged to take part.
City of Karratha Mayor Peter Long said the Council-run initiative provided valuable insight into the programming needs of young people in the community that could then be addressed through the City’s Youth Services team.
“The youth services programming and events we offer in the City of Karratha are of an excellent standard and we are continually striving to grow and develop them,” Cr Long said.
“Each year we conduct this youth specific survey to make sure we are meeting the current needs of young people in the community and offering appropriate events, programming and support,” he said.
“Being a young person has its challenges and we want to continue to ensure that the services we offer at The Youth Shed in Karratha and The Base in Wickham are helpful and relevant.”
All youth who complete the online survey will be eligible to enter a prize draw for a UE Megaboom, an iPod or one of six $50 iTunes vouchers.
